The reasons for the final regulatory action were relevant to: Human health Summary of known hazards and risks to human health: - May cause toxic effects if inhaled or ingested/swallowed. Contact with substance may cause severe burns to skin and eyes. Fire will produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. Vapours may cause dizziness or suffocation. Runoff from fire control or dilution water may cause pollution. - Workers chronically exposed to the vapour have had complaints of headache, fatigue, itching of the throat, lacrimation, loss of the sense of taste, numbness of the tongue, and tremor. Occupational overexposure is relatively rare due to the liquid's low vapour pressure, and symptoms usually disappear rapidly after removal from exposure.
